Partnering Social Action on World Wetland Day – 2024

Programme : In Mantaidiwe, the wetland plants were planted to mark Wetland Day under the auspices of Mepa Marine Environmental Protection Authority.

Objective:  objectives of Mangrove plantation are to promote coastal protection, conserve biodiversity, sequester carbon, improve water quality, support local livelihoods, and enhance the natural beauty of coastal regions.Establish a volunteer program specifically focused on mangrove restoration and conservation. This can include regular volunteering opportunities, where interested individuals can contribute their time and effort for planting, monitoring, or maintaining the mangrove ecosystems.

Participants : Twenty Geography Department Students and Assistants Lecturer Participated in this Event.
