SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT YOUTH PARTNERSHIP AMBASSADOR-2023

The following students of Level III Semester II, Community and Regional Planning, Geography Department, Arts Faculty, University of Jaffna have been selected for Sustainable Development Youth Partnership Ambassador 2023/2024 by the Sri Lanka-United Nations Friendship Organisation (SUNFO) under SUNFO Model Youth Global Village.

The selected students and the countries to which inducted as ambassadors are given below:

  • Priyanka Jeyakumar (2018/A/271)                       – Senegal
  • Shasvina Rajenthiran (2018/A/355)                      – Kiribati
  • Sarumiya Uthayakumar (2018/A/460)                  – Ghana
  • Hamshika Lingeswaran (2018/A/170)                  – Mongolia
  • Mary Nishanthini Thiruchelvam (2018/A/233)     – Jamaica

SUNFO is a non-political, non-racial and non-sectarian organization that seeks to unite all peoples into a movement working for the well-being, harmony and peace of mankind according to the principles of the United Nations. SUNFO is involved in activities to support the Agenda/2030 to archive SDGs worldwide.

This organization conducted interviews national level and based on their interview performances on the knowledge in Sustainable Development Goals, experiences, communication skills and community involvements they recruited youths for working sustainable development youth partnership ambassadors for different countries. The selected youths will work with the youths of the countries inducted to them locally and internationally.

As a part of this program initiative, our selected 06 students from the University of Jaffna have successfully participated in the two days orientation held at the BMICH, Colombo and respectfully inducted for the countries mentioned above.
